The Nashville Youth Jazz Ensemble is an educational and performing jazz big band for students grades 8-12 in the Middle Tennessee Area. The purpose of our organization is to support jazz education in our community while providing our student members with a high-quality opportunity to perform America’s truly original art form. An additional goal of “NYJE” is to foster the appreciation of jazz music in the greater Nashville community.
The Nashville Youth Jazz Ensemble rehearses once a week on Sunday afternoon. Auditions for the group are held in September of each year.
